SWAN Languages Quiz

posted 24 Nov 2016, 05:29 by Jake Greenwood   [ updated 24 Nov 2016, 05:30 ]

A group of high achieving pupils from Year 9 represented Four Dwellings Academy at this year’s SWAN Languages Quiz, hosted by Lordswood Girls’ School. This annual event, which attracts the top language learners from a dozen local schools, enables top achieving pupils to pit their wits against each other in a series of tricky mind-stretching tasks.

Mr Starkie, Head of Modern Foreign Languages commented, “It’s always a pleasure to take pupils to events like these and see them stretched in their abilities. It also allows them to encounter other high achieving pupils from other schools, which gives them the aspiration to do even better. We are all now aware how important it is for pupils to get a foreign language GCSE in order to have access to the best Universities in the future. Events like this help to raise the level of ambition in pupils who are already doing well to become truly world class learners.”
