Charity Christmas Fundraising

posted 16 Dec 2013, 06:40 by Matthew Shenton   [ updated 16 Dec 2013, 07:15 ]
Four Dwellings Academy has a proud history of supporting local charity ‘St Basils’ every year at Christmas. St Basils is a local charity that works with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. It helps over 5000 young people per year across Birmingham, Solihull, Worcestershire and the Coventry area.

Key Stage 3 pupils were challenged to put on their thinking caps and devised some amazing fundraising ideas to raise the much needed cash. They also set up a ‘Charity Commission’ who decided that the best idea was for staff and pupils to wear a Christmas jumper for a 50p donation which  to St Basils on Friday 20th December 2013. Pupils must wear the rest of their uniform as normal and only a Christmas jumper is allowed.

There will also be a ‘Winter Fair’ on the day with cake stalls (Mr Shenton will even bake…), guess how many sweets in the jar, guess the name of the Teddy, other stalls and an exhibition of festive art work created by Key Stage 3 pupils.

Please support this worthwhile cause in any way you can.

Regards

Mr M Shenton

Head of Key Stage 3
