Dear Parent/Carer

As we come to the end of a long and busy term I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for working closely with the academy to ensure that pupils make good progress and attend every day on time. Our attendance is now the best it has ever been at 96% and we couldn’t have achieved this without your continued support!

Pupils have been involved in a range of events and activities across the term including the Shakespeare Schools Festival, a Careers Convention,  and of course our Christmas concert which took place on Thursday 19th December – please get your tickets and come along and enjoy the show!

Year 11 pupils have just completed their GCSE trial examinations and you are invited to discuss the results with subject teachers at our Year 11 Parents Evening on Wednesday 15th January 2014. Appointment sheets will be distributed to pupils early in the new term.

Finally, we continue to support St Basils Charity with our ‘Christmas Jumper Day’ on Friday 20th December and hope that you will encourage your child to participate for such a good cause.

The academy closes on Friday 20th December at 12.20pm and reopens for pupils at the normal time on Tuesday 7th January 2014.

Have a great Christmas break!

Kind regards

Ms R Elcocks

Principal
