Dear Parent/Guardian,

As we come to the end of the academic year I would like to thank you all for your continued support.

It has been an incredibly busy year with lots of events and celebrations. In this term alone our pupils have participated in a number of events including the ‘DanceQuest’ project with the Birmingham Hippodrome, the opening celebrations for our new 3G pitch, the academy prom, a languages day and the Quinsound concert at St Boniface church. In addition, we have our sports days coming up next week! I am sure you will agree that it is fantastic that so many of our pupils are involved with extra-curricular events both in school and within the local community.

Furthermore, many of our local primary schools have visited Four Dwellings Academy in recent weeks to attend workshops in Design Technology, Art, Music and languages – the response from all the primary pupils and staff about their experience in our academy has been overwhelmingly positive, reflecting the changes and developments that have taken place here over the last 12 months.

Finally a reminder that the academy closes for the summer break on Friday 18th July at 12.20pm and reopens for Year 7 only on Tuesday September 2nd and all other year groups on Wednesday September 3rd 2014.

We are holding a non-uniform day on Friday 18th July to help raise money for one of our pupils who is currently very poorly in hospital. The pupils themselves are are leading this campaign and have asked that everyone attending school pay 50p to dress as a book/film character for the day – we hope you will support such a worthy cause.

I wish you all a safe summer break and look forward to another successful year working together.

Kind regards,

Becky Elcocks
Principal
