Dear Parent/Guardian,

Welcome to Four Dwellings Academy!

It is wonderful that your child will be joining us in September 2014. Some of our Year 7 team will be in touch with you shortly to arrange transition visits and ‘settling in’ workshops which will take place over the summer term. This will help your child prepare for secondary transition and ensure it is a positive and supportive experience. In addition, we will be providing a free uniform for all our new pupils and details of how to order and collect uniform will be forwarded to you in due course.

Our academy has been transformed in the last 12 months with significant improvements in provision and facilities. We have a new 3G football pitch opening in May 2014 and will be hosting a fantastic open day which you are welcome to attend – details to follow. The new pitch will extend our community access and provide more opportunities to work with sports professionals and organisations.

In addition, the academy’s renewed focus on high standards and expectations has placed our pupil attendance significantly above national average – the best it has ever been, and we are on track to gain our best ever results in the summer exams. It’s an exciting time for your child to become part of our learning community!

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or anxieties about your child’s transition to Four Dwellings Academy. A reminder that acceptance needs to be with the academy by Monday 17th March. I look forward to meeting you in the near future.

Kind regards

Becky Elcocks
