Year 6 Induction Day

Four Dwellings Academy held our 'Induction Day' yesterday for those pupils currently in Year 6 who will join us in September. The day began at 9.15am when the excited  pupils attended an assembly in the school hall to hear Assistant Principal Ms Jalotta formally welcome them to the Academy and outline the day ahead.

Throughout the rest of the day Year 6 worked in their tutor groups and attended lessons in Science, Drama and PE before tucking into a scrumptious meal in the school canteen.

The pupils were also given the chance to ask as many questions about Academy life as they could and meet with staff. Many of our current pupils were also on hand to offer support and help the new pupils settle in. By 2.45pm there were many tired but happy faces in the hall as year 6 were dismissed and collected by parents.

Further transition sessions for the new intake will be held over the summer holidays at a specially designed 'Summer School' and on the first day of the new academic year in September.

Everyone hopes that Year 6 have a fantastic summer, and we look forward to seeing them again in September.
