New Year 7 Information

Information useful to new students starting in September 2017
Welcome to Four Dwellings Academy!

Please see attached letter explaining some important dates and information as your child prepares to join us

As your Year 6 child enters their final term at primary school we understand that they will be feeling a mixture of excitement and apprehension at starting secondary school with us in September. We likewise recognise that many parents or carers will also be feeling the same!

To ease the move to our Academy we are offering a comprehensive package of ‘transition’ events to allow you and your child to experience a taste of what secondary school life will be like, experience curriculum lessons, meet their new form tutor, make new friends and meet our skilled and wonderful staff.
Feedback from parents about the transition process last year was as follows
My child found the Induction process an enjoyable experience. 94% Strongly agree/agree
The experience of transition from Year 6-7 was a smooth one. 94% Strongly agree/agree

You probably do not realise how damaging even a few days out of school can be to your learning
